About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in industrial machinery to join their manufacturing engineering team in Sheffield . You will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving a wide range of complex machinery, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new industrial machinery and equipment, ensuring adherence to performance specifications and safety standards.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using advanced CAD software.
• Perform calculations and simulations for stress, strain, and thermal analysis to optimize designs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and easily produced.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues with existing machinery and propose effective solutions for improvement.
• Stay updated on industry trends and new technologies related to industrial machinery design.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in the design of industrial machinery or complex mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and basic FEA knowledge.
• Understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, gearboxes, and control systems.
• Experience with manufacturing processes and materials selection for industrial applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in Sheffield .
