About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the development of state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment in Wolverhampton . This role is critical in designing and refining machinery that enhances production efficiency and quality for various industrial processes. You will be an integral part of a dedicated engineering team, working on innovative projects from conception to implementation. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop novel mechanical systems and equipment for manufacturing processes, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using industry-standard software.
- Conduct engineering analysis, including stress and tolerance studies, to validate design integrity.
- Collaborate with production and R&D teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability and operational efficiency.
- Specify components, materials, and fabrication methods, considering cost and lead times.
- Provide technical support during the build, testing, and implementation phases of new equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably with manufacturing equipment.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor.
- Good understanding of mechanical principles, pneumatics, hydraulics, and control systems.
- Experience with various manufacturing processes and materials.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent attention to detail in an office setting.
