About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative team in Cambridge . Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for new medical devices using advanced CAD software .
• Perform tolerance analysis, material selection, and manufacturability assessments.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation compliant with medical device regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs.
• Support the prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical designs for medical applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design challenges throughout the product development process.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, with specific experience in the medical device industry .
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks , Creo) and associated PDM systems.
• Knowledge of medical device design controls (ISO 13485) and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with precision manufacturing processes and materials used in medical applications.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
