About the Role

Our client is looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the development of innovative medical devices in Brighton . This hybrid role allows for flexible working, combining office-based design and development with remote collaboration. You will be involved in the entire product lifecycle, from concept generation to final product release, ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for medical devices using advanced 3D CAD software.
• Conduct simulations and analyses (e.g., FEA) to ensure design robustness, safety, and efficacy.
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs.
• Support prototype building, testing, and validation activities.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant medical device regulations (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA guidelines).

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in mechanical design, preferably within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and simulation tools.
• Understanding of biocompatibility , sterilization, and material selection for medical applications.
• Familiarity with FDA regulations and ISO 13485 standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
