Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and technically adept Mechanical Design Engineer to join their forward-thinking team based in Brighton . This role is ideal for an engineer passionate about product innovation and design, offering exposure to a wide range of exciting projects. You will be integral to the design process, contributing to the development of robust and user-friendly mechanical solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs for new products and product enhancements using 3D CAD software.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings, models, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Conduct basic analysis and calculations to ensure designs meet functional and safety requirements.
• Work collaboratively with the R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams.
• Assist in the assembly, testing, and validation of prototypes and final products.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues that arise during development and production.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 2-5 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks) and an understanding of PDM systems.
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and general engineering principles.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous learning.
