Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Derby . Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) .
• Perform design calculations and basic stress analysis to ensure product integrity.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure designs are producible and meet requirements.
• Assist in the testing and validation of new designs.
• Support the continuous improvement of existing products and processes.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or HND/HNC with relevant experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Basic understanding of materials and manufacturing processes .
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid team setting.
