Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to their innovative product development efforts in Derby , offering a hybrid work arrangement. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical parts and assemblies using 3D CAD software.
• Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Perform engineering calculations and basic simulations to validate design concepts.
• Work with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for production.
• Participate in prototype builds and testing, documenting results and making design adjustments.
• Contribute to design reviews and offer innovative solutions to engineering challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and basic understanding of FEA.
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
