About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to their innovative projects in Coventry . This role involves the full lifecycle of product design, from initial concept generation to detailed design and prototype testing. You will work within a dedicated engineering department, collaborating closely with product development teams to bring new ideas to life and improve existing product lines. Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for mechanical components and assemblies using industry-standard CAD software .
• Perform design validation through calculations, simulations, and prototype testing.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are optimized for production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Investigate and resolve design issues encountered during prototype builds and early production phases.
• Support the product development process by actively participating in design reviews and brainstorming sessions.
• Maintain accurate records of design changes and revisions throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a closely related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or a comparable 3D CAD package is essential.
• Familiarity with various manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, and sheet metal fabrication.
• Understanding of material selection and its impact on product performance and cost.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
