About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their esteemed engineering department in Coventry . This role is integral to the conceptualization and execution of innovative mechanical solutions for a diverse range of industrial applications. You will be part of a collaborative team, contributing your technical expertise to projects that are at the forefront of technological advancement. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine mechanical designs for new and existing products using advanced CAD software , ensuring functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct detailed technical calculations and simulations, including stress analysis and thermal performance, to validate design integrity.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for production, troubleshooting any issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
- Participate in cross-functional project meetings, contributing to technical discussions and decision-making for product development.
- Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Assist in the testing and validation of prototypes, documenting results and recommending design modifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Solid understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes relevant to industrial machinery.
- Ability to analyze technical data and present findings clearly and concisely.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
