Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a motivated and skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative team in Belfast . This role focuses on the design and development of new mechanical components and systems, ensuring they meet high standards of functionality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production and R&D, to bring new ideas to life and improve existing products. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical parts and assemblies using 3D CAD software.
• Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Conduct design reviews and perform calculations to ensure designs meet performance requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are optimized for production.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues encountered during prototyping and production.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of product designs and manufacturing processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 2-5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably with CAD software.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, and sheet metal fabrication.
• Good understanding of engineering principles and materials science.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical information clearly.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
