Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dedicated engineering team in Belfast . This role is central to the development of innovative mechanical solutions, requiring a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of design principles. You will be responsible for translating concepts into tangible designs, working closely with production and R&D departments to bring new products to life. Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed mechanical designs and drawings using CAD software , ensuring all specifications are met.
• Perform calculations and simulations to verify the integrity and performance of designs.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to optimize designs for efficient production and assembly.
• Support the testing and validation of prototypes and new product designs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues that arise during production or field deployment.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation and bill of materials (BOMs).

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant HND/HNC qualification.
• 2-5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within a product development context.
• Proficiency in using CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
