Mechanical Design Engineer

My client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team and support the design and development of a range of mechanical products and systems.

This is a great opportunity for a practical, technically minded engineer who enjoys taking designs from concept through to manufacture and working closely with engineering, production and other internal teams.

The Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Producing detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings.

*

Designing mechanical components, assemblies and systems.

*

Developing concepts through to detailed design and manufacture.

*

Creating and maintaining technical drawings, bills of materials and design documentation.

*

Supporting prototype builds, testing and design improvements.

*

Working closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective.

*

Reviewing existing designs and identifying opportunities for improvement.

*

Supporting projects throughout the full product development lifecycle.

About You

My client is looking for someone with:

*

Previous experience working as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Design Engineer or similar.

*

Strong 3D CAD experience using SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Inventor.

*

Experience producing detailed manufacturing and engineering drawings.

*

A good understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.

*

The ability to work on multiple projects and manage changing priorities.

*

Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.

*

A relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Design Engineering or a similar discipline would be advantageous.

Experience within a manufacturing, machinery, automation, special-purpose equipment or product development environment would be particularly beneficial.
