Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team in Newcastle upon Tyne . Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and systems using 3D CAD software.
• Conduct engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and vibration, to validate design performance.
• Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are optimized for efficient production.
• Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and implementing solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues encountered during prototyping and production.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and basic FEA knowledge.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, and sheet metal fabrication.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities, suitable for a hybrid work setting.
