Mechanical Engineer - HVAC Systems

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer with expertise in HVAC systems to join their building services team in Wolverhampton . This role is essential for designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient and sustainable heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial and industrial properties. You will work on a variety of projects, ensuring optimal building performance and occupant comfort. The position requires a proactive approach to engineering challenges and a commitment to delivering high-quality, energy-efficient solutions within budget and schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and specify mechanical HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and air distribution components.
• Conduct load calculations, energy modeling, and system performance analysis to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD software.
• Manage HVAC projects from conception through to completion, overseeing installation, commissioning, and handover.
• Liaise with architects, contractors, and clients to ensure design intent is met and project requirements are satisfied.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to existing HVAC systems, recommending and implementing upgrades or repairs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in HVAC design and project management.
• Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP) and relevant calculation tools.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and building physics.
• Knowledge of current building regulations, energy efficiency standards, and sustainability practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
