Mechanical Engineer (Manufacturing)

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive Mechanical Engineer specializing in manufacturing processes to join their team in Norwich . This role is integral to optimizing production efficiency, improving manufacturing methods, and ensuring the quality and reliability of manufactured products. You will work closely with the production floor, quality control, and design teams to implement effective engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and improve existing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
• Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing equipment and tooling solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to mechanical systems and equipment, providing timely solutions.
• Collaborate with the design team to ensure products are manufacturable and cost-effective.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and validation protocols.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of manufacturing machinery.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role.
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing techniques (e.g., machining, assembly, automation).
• Proficiency with CAD software for designing jigs, fixtures, and tooling.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies is advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a production environment in Norwich .
