Mechanical Engineer - Product Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join their product development team, working entirely remotely from Leeds . This role focuses on the complete lifecycle of mechanical product design, from conceptualization through to production readiness. You will be a key contributor in a fast-paced, innovative environment, leveraging your technical skills to create high-performance and reliable mechanical solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for new product introductions using advanced 3D CAD tools.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations and simulations, including stress analysis and thermal management, to ensure product robustness.
• Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate effectively with remote global teams, including electrical engineers, product managers, and manufacturing specialists.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and the validation of mechanical designs to meet performance requirements.
• Troubleshoot design issues and implement modifications to enhance product performance and manufacturability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Proficiency with industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Onshape) and simulation tools.
• Understanding of various manufacturing processes and materials selection.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a remote team setting.
• Strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
