Mechanical Engineer - Product Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking a creative and technically adept Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding product development team in Brighton . This role, operating in a hybrid capacity, focuses on the end-to-end design and development of innovative new products, from initial concept generation through to market launch. You will collaborate closely with designers, electrical engineers, and software developers, leveraging advanced tools and methodologies to bring cutting-edge solutions to life. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and development of new products, from concept to production release.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and prototypes using advanced CAD software.
• Perform tolerance analysis, stress analysis , and other engineering calculations to ensure product performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including industrial designers, electrical engineers, and marketing specialists.
• Develop and execute product testing plans, analyze results, and implement design improvements.
• Work with manufacturing partners to ensure designs are optimized for mass production and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in product development, with a strong portfolio of designed products.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and familiarity with CAE tools.
• Experience with various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, CNC machining).
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing collaboration with focused individual work.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
