Our client is seeking a diligent and skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their manufacturing and installation team in Norwich, Norfolk . This role is essential for the assembly and preparation of mechanical systems and equipment used across various industrial applications. You will be responsible for fitting components, ensuring precision, and preparing equipment for installation or dispatch. This is a hands-on position for an individual who takes pride in their work, understands mechanical principles, and is committed to contributing to the production of high-quality engineered products, working within a reputable local company.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical systems and equipment according to detailed drawings and specifications.
- Fit and install various components, ensuring correct alignment and secure fastening.
- Perform routine checks and adjustments on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct basic maintenance and lubrication of equipment as part of the fitting process.
- Identify and report any defects or issues with components or assemblies.
- Maintain a tidy and safe working environment in the workshop.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of materials and finished products.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a related assembly role.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools for mechanical assembly.
- Good understanding of mechanical principles and how components work together.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime when required to meet production deadlines.
