Client Overview Specialist engineering company based in Derby, delivering large-scale mechanical overhaul and modification projects. Due to continued project demand, they are looking to recruit experienced Mechanical Fitters for a long-term contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out the overhaul, refurbishment and mechanical assembly of heavy engineering equipment.
• Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding mechanical components to engineering specifications.
• Replacing worn or damaged components and carrying out mechanical modifications where required.
• Using engineering drawings, work instructions and technical documentation to complete work accurately.
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard while maintaining safe working practices. Person Profile
• Proven experience working as a Mechanical Fitter within a heavy engineering, manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Confident using a wide range of hand and power tools.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions.
• Experience carrying out mechanical overhauls, repairs and rebuilds.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Important Information
• This role is based in Derby - no digs or expenses allowance is available.
• Contractors will be engaged Outside IR35 through their own Ltd Company.
• Applicants must have their own PPE (Safety Boots, Hi-Vis, Gloves, Safety Glasses, etc.).
• Applicants must have an active Ltd Company with a separate business bank account.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent Mechanical Engineering qualification (preferred). Recruitment Process Successful applicants will be required to submit an up-to-date CV.
