Client Overview Our client is a specialist engineering company based in Derby, delivering large-scale mechanical overhaul and modification projects. Due to continued project demand, they are looking to recruit Semi Skilled Fitters to support experienced mechanical teams on a long-term contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the overhaul, refurbishment and mechanical assembly of heavy engineering equipment.
- Stripping and rebuilding mechanical components under the guidance of experienced fitters.
- Cleaning, preparing and replacing mechanical parts and components.
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Working from engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Maintaining high standards of quality, housekeeping and health & safety. Person Profile
- Previous experience in a mechanical, manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.
- Competent using a range of hand and power tools.
- Basic mechanical fitting or assembly experience.
- Able to follow engineering drawings and written work instructions.
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team.
- Willing to learn and develop new mechanical skills. Important Information
- This role is based in Derby - no digs or expenses allowance is available.
- Contractors will be engaged Outside IR35 through their own Ltd Company.
- Applicants must have an active Ltd Company with a separate business bank account.
Qualifications
Mechanical or Engineering qualification advantageous but not essential. Apprenticeship, NVQ or City & Guilds in a relevant discipline would be beneficial.
