About the Role
Our client is seeking a proficient Mechanical Installation Engineer to join their dedicated team in Cambridge . This role is critical for the precise installation and setup of complex mechanical systems and equipment at various client sites. You will be responsible for ensuring that all installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a meticulous approach to their work. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to significant projects within the installation & maintenance sector, supporting clients across Cambridgeshire.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and commission mechanical equipment and systems according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Perform pre-installation checks, including site surveys and preparation.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues during the installation process.
- Ensure all installations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to ensure project timelines are met.
- Provide basic handover and training to clients on the operation of installed mechanical systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a mechanical installation or fitting role.
- Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, tools, and machinery.
- Excellent practical skills and attention to detail.
- Must hold a full UK driving license and be willing to travel to sites within the Cambridge area.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
