Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on a wide range of mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, and conveyor systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical failures, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals to guide maintenance and repair activities.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and general fitting tasks as required.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and equipment status.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements
- Qualified as a Mechanical Engineer or hold a relevant NVQ/C&G qualification.
- Demonstrable experience in industrial mechanical maintenance.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and general machinery upkeep.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong work ethic.
- Flexibility to work shifts if required and ability to work in various site conditions in Newcastle upon Tyne .
