About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join their industrial operations team in Coventry, West Midlands . This role is vital for ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of all mechanical systems within their facilities. You will be responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of industrial machinery. This is a hands-on position that requires a strong understanding of mechanical principles and a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining a safe and productive working environment by proactively identifying and addressing potential equipment failures, working closely with production teams to minimize operational disruptions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all mechanical equipment, including pumps, conveyors, and production machinery.
- Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions, diagnosing and repairing faults to restore operational status.
- Utilize hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment, to complete maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent in the company's maintenance log.
- Ensure all work performed complies with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with electrical technicians and other maintenance staff to ensure comprehensive upkeep of plant machinery in Coventry .
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician or in a similar industrial maintenance role.
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and general machinery repair.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
- Proficiency with various tools and diagnostic equipment used in mechanical maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
