Mechanical/Piping Supervisor – Power Generation

Location: Dublin, Ireland Contract: 5–6 months, through to pre-commissioning Hours: 10 hours per day, 6–7 days per week Start date: Immediate

Rates: £350.00 - £500.00 per day

We are currently recruiting an experienced Mechanical/Piping Supervisor with gas turbine experience to support the construction of a major power-generation project in Dublin.

The successful candidate will oversee mechanical installation activities through to the pre-commissioning phase. The role will combine site-based supervision with office coordination, progress reporting and attendance at meetings with project management and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical installation activities across the project.

• Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity and workmanship.

• Ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, procedures and project standards.

• Conduct regular site walk-rounds and inspections.

• Coordinate daily activities with the construction and project-management teams.

• Attend progress, coordination and subcontractor meetings.

• Identify potential delays, technical issues and interface risks.

• Assist with short-term planning, work sequencing and resource coordination.

• Monitor progress against the construction programme.

• Review relevant drawings, method statements and risk assessments.

• Coordinate mechanical works with piping, electrical, EC&I, civils and commissioning teams.

• Monitor punch-list items and support their close-out.

• Maintain accurate progress records and provide updates to the project team.

• Support the transition from construction into pre-commissioning.

• Promote high standards of health, safety, quality and housekeeping.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Supervisor on major industrial or power-generation projects.

• A valid Irish Safe Pass is required. Training can be arranged for suitable candidates who do not currently hold one.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical plant, equipment installation and associated systems.

• Experience working with gas turbines and on OCGT or CCGT projects would be highly beneficial.

• Experience managing and coordinating mechanical subcontractors.

• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and construction documentation.

• Strong communication, organisation and reporting skills.

• Comfortable working between the site and project office.

• Willingness to work 10-hour shifts, 6–7 days per week.
