Mechanical Project Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to manage and deliver a portfolio of challenging engineering projects in Manchester . This role requires a proactive individual capable of overseeing all phases of the project lifecycle, from initial planning and design through to execution, testing, and handover. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards. This is a critical position for an engineer who excels in project management, technical problem-solving, and cross-functional team leadership within a demanding industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple mechanical engineering projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and scope.
• Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, risk assessment, and milestone tracking.
• Oversee the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Ensure all project activities comply with relevant health and safety regulations and quality standards.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to provide regular project updates and manage expectations.
• Lead project teams, fostering a collaborative atmosphere and resolving technical and logistical challenges effectively.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with a PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex mechanical engineering projects in an industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including agile and waterfall .
• Experience with CAD software and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions in a dynamic project environment.
