Mechanical Project Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Mechanical Project Engineer to manage and execute various engineering projects within their facilities in Leeds . This role is integral to overseeing the entire lifecycle of mechanical projects, from initial planning and design through to execution, commissioning, and handover. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will possess strong project management acumen, excellent technical knowledge, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers, contributing to the company's success in West Yorkshire.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical engineering projects.
• Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Oversee the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
• Conduct site surveys, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Prepare comprehensive project reports and documentation.

Requirements

• Proven experience in project engineering or project management within a mechanical engineering context.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment, and installation processes.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Excellent organizational, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Experience with CAD software for design review is advantageous.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
