Job Description
Mechanical Project Manager
Location: Sheffield / Yorkshire Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 + Car + Benefits Employment: Permanent
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a major independent MEP contractor based in Yorkshire.
The business has an excellent reputation within the building services sector and a strong, secure order book of major projects across the Yorkshire region. They work alongside many of the UK’s leading Tier 1 main contractors, delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical installations on large-scale construction projects.
Due to continued growth and a significant pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to take responsibility for the delivery of multi-million-pound mechanical projects.
The Role
As Mechanical Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the mechanical delivery of projects from pre-construction and mobilisation through to completion and handover.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Managing multi-million-pound mechanical building services projects
- Planning and coordinating mechanical installation works
- Managing site teams, supervisors and specialist subcontractors
- Liaising closely with Tier 1 main contractors, consultants and client teams
- Monitoring programme, progress, quality and commercial performance
- Procurement and coordination of plant, materials and subcontract packages
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and to the required standard
- Attending project, progress and coordination meetings
- Managing commissioning, completion and handover
The Candidate
We are looking for an established Mechanical Project Manager with a strong background in the MEP/building services sector.
You should have:
- Experience delivering large-scale mechanical building services projects
- A track record of managing projects valued into the £millions
- Experience working alongside Tier 1 main contractors
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial mechanical services
- Good commercial awareness and project management skills
- The ability to manage site teams, subcontractors and client relationships effectively
- Experience delivering major projects within Yorkshire would be advantageous
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join a prestigious and highly regarded independent MEP contractor with an enviable regional reputation.
The company has a particularly strong order book, offering the combination that is increasingly difficult to find in the industry: large-scale, technically interesting projects without the need for extensive national travel. The majority of the workload is across Yorkshire, providing genuine long-term regional project opportunities
