Job Description
Senior Mechanical Site Manager – Gatwick
Location: Gatwick Airport
Type: Site Based
Project: Major Decarbonisation & Building Services Programme
We are looking for two experienced Senior Mechanical Site Managers to join a major decarbonisation programme at Gatwick Airport.
These roles will be heavily involved in the pre-construction and delivery stages, working between site, design and project teams to ensure mechanical solutions are practical, coordinated and buildable within a complex live environment.
The Role
* Undertake detailed site surveys and investigations of existing mechanical/building services installations.
* Review and understand mechanical design, drawings and specifications, identifying potential issues before works commence.
* Work closely with design teams to develop buildable and practical solutions.
* Lead reviews of buildability, spatial requirements, interfaces and mechanical coordination.
* Identify clashes, constraints and design issues and work with the wider team to resolve them.
* Support installation methodologies, sequencing and construction programmes.
* Provide technical guidance to site teams and subcontractors throughout delivery.
* Coordinate mechanical works with other disciplines and existing live services.
* Ensure works are delivered safely, to programme and in accordance with design and quality requirements.
About You
* Experienced Mechanical Site Manager / Senior Mechanical Supervisor with a strong building services background.
* Excellent understanding of mechanical systems, installation and construction methodology.
* Confident reading and interpreting detailed mechanical drawings and design information.
* Strong understanding of buildability and coordination, with the ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions.
* Comfortable undertaking site surveys and assessing existing installations.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively between design, project and site teams.
* Experience working on complex refurbishment, retrofit or live environments would be advantageous.
* Airport, energy, decarbonisation, heat pump or renewable energy experience would be a bonus, but is not essential.
* SMSTS qualified.
* 3-day First Aid at Work qualified.
* Valid CSCS card.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a major UK decarbonisation programme, helping translate innovative mechanical designs into safe, practical and deliverable solutions on site
