About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Systems Engineer to join their Automation team in Nottingham . This hybrid role will involve both collaborative on-site work and remote planning, focusing on the design and integration of automated mechanical systems. You will play a key role in developing solutions that enhance efficiency and productivity across various industrial processes. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and integrate mechanical systems for automated processes and robotic applications.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and precise manufacturing drawings for automated equipment.
- Perform mechanical analysis, including stress, motion, and thermal calculations, to ensure system performance and safety.
- Collaborate closely with control engineers, software developers, and project managers to deliver integrated automation solutions.
- Oversee prototype fabrication, system assembly, testing, and commissioning of automated machinery.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement design improvements for enhanced reliability and efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and automation engineering.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor) and experience with motion control systems.
- Solid understanding of robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and sensor integration.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills for effective teamwork in a hybrid setting.
- Experience with PLM systems and project management methodologies is beneficial.
