About the Role
Our client is seeking a proficient Senior Control Systems Engineer to join their industrial automation team in Nottingham . This role is vital for the design, implementation, and optimization of complex control systems for various industrial processes, including those within the energy and manufacturing sectors . You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and reliable operation of automated plant equipment through advanced control strategies and robust system architecture. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems, alongside strong programming skills and a deep understanding of industrial automation principles and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement PLC, SCADA, and DCS control systems for industrial automation projects.
- Program and configure control logic, human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and supervisory systems.
- Commission control systems on-site, including system testing, calibration, and operator training.
- Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues to minimize downtime and optimize plant performance.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, and clients to define system requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and advancements in industrial automation and control systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in control systems engineering within an industrial environment, ideally in the energy or manufacturing sectors .
- Proficiency with programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, and C/C++.
- Experience with leading PLC brands (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell) and DCS platforms.
- Strong understanding of industrial networks, sensors, actuators, and instrumentation.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a meticulous approach to system design and implementation.
