About the Role
Our client seeks a strategic and seasoned Media Relations Manager to lead their communications efforts in Belfast . This senior role involves developing and implementing comprehensive media strategies to enhance brand reputation and increase positive coverage. You will be the primary point of contact for media inquiries, responsible for crafting compelling press materials and building strong relationships with journalists across national, regional, and trade publications. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic media relations plans to achieve communication objectives.
- Manage all incoming media requests and serve as the primary spokesperson or coordinate spokespeople.
- Write and disseminate press releases, media advisories, and background materials.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key media contacts.
- Monitor media coverage, identify emerging issues, and provide timely counsel to leadership.
- Organise press conferences, media tours, and other media-related events.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in media relations, public relations, or journalism.
- Demonstrated success in securing positive media coverage in major outlets.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive issues and navigate crisis communications.
- Strong understanding of the media landscape and current affairs.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
