About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned and strategic Media Relations Manager to lead their public outreach efforts in Wolverhampton . This role is central to building and maintaining positive relationships with the media, crafting compelling narratives, and securing favorable coverage across various outlets. You will be responsible for developing and executing media strategies that enhance brand reputation and public perception, working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure consistent and impactful messaging within the dynamic West Midlands market, driving visibility and positive public discourse.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive media relations strategies .
• Serve as a primary spokesperson and point of contact for media inquiries.
• Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other communication materials.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and producers.
• Monitor media coverage, analyze trends, and report on PR outcomes.
• Manage crisis communications and provide strategic counsel during sensitive situations.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in media relations , public relations, or journalism.
• Proven track record of securing positive media coverage and managing media campaigns.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills.
• Strong understanding of the media landscape and current affairs.
• Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with a wide range of media contacts.
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
