About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Media Relations Officer to join their team remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective media relations strategies to enhance the company's public image and communicate its key messages to diverse audiences. You will build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, bloggers, and influencers across the UK and beyond. This position requires a skilled communicator with a deep understanding of the media landscape and the ability to craft compelling narratives, all within a flexible, remote-working framework. Your expertise will be vital in managing the company's reputation and increasing its visibility from your home office.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute targeted media relations strategies to secure positive press coverage.
• Proactively identify and pitch compelling stories to relevant media outlets.
• Build and nurture relationships with journalists, editors, and key industry influencers.
• Monitor media coverage, analyze results, and provide regular reports on campaign effectiveness.
• Draft and disseminate press releases, media advisories, and background materials.
• Act as a media spokesperson when required, ensuring consistent and accurate messaging.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in media relations, PR, or journalism.
• Proven ability to secure high-profile media placements and manage relationships with key media contacts.
• Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in crisis communications and reputation management is highly desirable.
