Medical Science Liaison (MSL) - Oncology

About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking biopharmaceutical company, is seeking an experienced and scientifically astute Medical Science Liaison (MSL) with a specialization in Oncology to cover the Scotland region, primarily based near Edinburgh . In this crucial field-based role, you will be the key scientific and medical expert, building strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals (HCPs). You will disseminate scientific information, gather insights from the medical community, and support the medical strategy for innovative oncology therapies. This hybrid role involves significant travel to engage with stakeholders across the territory.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary scientific and medical expert for assigned oncology products and therapeutic areas.
• Engage in scientific exchange with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals to discuss clinical data and therapeutic strategies.
• Gather and report on insights from the medical community regarding unmet needs, clinical practice, and competitive intelligence.
• Support the development and execution of the local medical affairs strategy.
• Identify and facilitate investigator-initiated studies (IIS ) and support clinical trial recruitment where appropriate.
• Present complex scientific and clinical data at medical congresses and internal meetings.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DVM) in a relevant life science discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an MSL or in a similar medical affairs role within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Deep understanding of the oncology therapeutic area and current treatment landscape.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with medical experts.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
