A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Newbury is looking for a caring and motivated Mental Health Assistant to join its specialist support team, working with pupils with a range of SEN and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mental Health Assistant to gain practical experience within a school environment while working alongside experienced teachers, SEN professionals and specialist support staff.

The Role

As a Mental Health Assistant, you'll support pupils across the primary age range who may experience:

Autism and ADHD Anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties Trauma-related behaviours Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs Barriers to learning and social developmentYou'll help pupils understand and manage their emotions, build confidence, develop positive relationships and engage more successfully with school life.
