About the Role
Our client is looking for a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Support Specialist to provide remote support to individuals across the Bradford area and beyond. In this vital role, you will offer crucial emotional and practical support, guidance, and resources to those experiencing mental health challenges. Working entirely from a remote setting, you will leverage digital communication tools to connect with clients, assess needs, develop support strategies, and facilitate access to appropriate services, playing a key part in enhancing mental well-being within the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct, remote support to individuals experiencing mental health difficulties, including active listening and empathetic communication.
- Conduct remote needs assessments to understand clients' challenges and goals.
- Develop and implement individualized mental health support plans tailored to client needs.
- Signpost clients to relevant external resources, services, and therapeutic interventions.
- Maintain accurate, confidential electronic records of client interactions and progress.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and support networks as required, via digital channels.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a mental health support role or related field.
- Strong understanding of common mental health conditions, recovery principles, and therapeutic approaches.
- Excellent remote communication skills, including active listening, empathy, and clear articulation.
- Proficiency with video conferencing platforms, digital record-keeping systems, and other remote working tools.
- Ability to manage caseloads effectively and work autonomously in a remote environment.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., in counselling, psychology, social work, or mental health nursing).
