Mental Health Support Worker

About the Role

Our client is looking for dedicated Mental Health Support Workers to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent , offering a hybrid model of support. You will provide crucial assistance to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, helping them to manage their conditions, build resilience, and reintegrate into the community. This role involves a blend of in-person support and remote check-ins, ensuring consistent and personalized care. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to recovery-focused support plans and promoting the well-being and independence of service users.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emotional and practical support to individuals with diverse mental health needs.
• Assist service users in developing coping strategies and managing daily living tasks.
• Facilitate access to community resources, services, and social activities.
• Conduct regular assessments and contribute to the development and review of support plans.
• Liaise effectively with other professionals, including therapists, psychiatrists, and social workers.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of all interactions and interventions in Stoke-on-Trent .

Requirements

• Previous experience in a mental health support role is highly preferred.
• Understanding of common mental health conditions and recovery principles.
• Excellent communication and active listening skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
• Willingness to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends, as part of a hybrid model.
• Must hold or be willing to work towards relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care with a mental health pathway.
