Mine Environmental Scientist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive Mine Environmental Scientist to join their team near Cambridge . This position is key to ensuring that all mining operations comply with environmental regulations and operate sustainably. You will be responsible for monitoring environmental impacts, developing mitigation strategies, and managing environmental permits. The successful candidate will possess a strong scientific background and a deep commitment to environmental stewardship within the mining industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor environmental parameters such as air quality, water quality, and noise levels at mining sites.
• Develop and implement environmental management plans and impact assessments.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and permit conditions.
• Manage waste disposal and recycling programs for mining operations.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies, community stakeholders, and internal teams on environmental matters.
• Conduct regular environmental audits and recommend corrective actions to minimize ecological impact.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental management, preferably within the mining or heavy industry sector.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
• Experience with environmental monitoring techniques and data analysis.
• Proficiency in GIS software for spatial environmental analysis is a plus.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
