About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Mine Geologist specializing in Resource Estimation to join their team near Reading . This role is pivotal in accurately assessing the quantity and quality of mineral resources, utilizing advanced geological modeling techniques. You will be responsible for analyzing exploration data, creating robust resource models, and providing critical information to support mine planning and economic evaluation. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and practical experience in resource estimation within the mining industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, validate, and interpret geological and assay data from exploration drilling and site surveys.
- Develop and apply geological models to estimate the volume, grade, and characteristics of mineral resources.
- Utilize specialized software for geological modeling, geostatistics, and resource calculation.
- Prepare detailed reports on resource estimates, including confidence levels and potential risks.
- Collaborate closely with mine engineers, surveyors, and operations personnel to integrate resource data into mine plans.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in geological modeling and resource estimation methodologies.
Requirements
- Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field with a focus on geostatistics or resource modeling.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in geological exploration and resource estimation.
- Proficiency in industry-standard geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog Geo, Datamine, Vulcan).
- Strong understanding of geostatistical principles and their application in resource estimation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in the Reading area.
