About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Mine Geotechnical Engineer to join their technical team supporting operations near Liverpool, Merseyside, UK . This crucial role involves assessing and managing the stability of underground and open-pit mine excavations, slopes, and infrastructure. You will be responsible for conducting geotechnical investigations, analyzing rock and soil mechanics data, and providing engineering recommendations to ensure the safety and efficiency of mining operations. Key Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical investigations, including site assessments, drilling, and laboratory testing.
• Analyze rock mass strength, groundwater conditions, and slope stability using specialized software.
• Design and recommend support systems for underground excavations and stabilization measures for open pits.
• Monitor ground conditions and assess the performance of existing mine structures.
• Develop geotechnical risk assessments and mitigation strategies for mining operations.
• Provide technical guidance and support to mine planning and operations personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related Civil Engineering discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in mine geotechnical engineering.
• Strong understanding of rock mechanics, soil mechanics, and hydrogeology principles.
• Proficiency with geotechnical modeling software (e.g., FLAC, Rocscience Suite, GeoStudio).
• Experience in designing ground support systems and slope stability analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong reporting capabilities.
