About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Mine Maintenance Engineer specializing in heavy equipment to join their team in Southampton . This role is critical for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of their extensive fleet of mining machinery, including excavators, haul trucks, and drills. You will be responsible for developing and executing maintenance strategies, leading repair efforts, and implementing preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage preventative maintenance programs for heavy mining equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on machinery.
• Oversee and participate in the repair and overhaul of critical equipment components.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely procurement of necessary components.
• Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians and mechanics.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance engineering, with a strong focus on heavy mobile equipment in mining or construction.
• Proven experience with hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of maintenance management software and systems.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
