About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned and strategic Mine Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep and operational readiness of all mining equipment and infrastructure at their operations near Oxford . This critical role ensures minimal downtime and maximum efficiency by leading a team of maintenance technicians and planners. You will be responsible for developing and executing preventative and corrective maintenance programs, managing spare parts inventory, and optimizing maintenance budgets. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and exceptional leadership skills, driving reliability and performance in a complex mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive maintenance strategies for all mining equipment (e.g., heavy machinery, processing plant, electrical systems).
- Oversee the execution of preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to minimize equipment failures and production delays.
- Manage the maintenance budget, including parts inventory, labor costs, and capital expenditure for equipment upgrades.
- Lead and develop a team of maintenance supervisors, technicians, and planners, fostering a culture of safety and high performance.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably within the mining or heavy industrial sector.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing successful maintenance programs.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems common in mining equipment.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is essential.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
