Mine Maintenance Supervisor - Heavy Equipment

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Mine Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance of heavy equipment at their operations near Edinburgh, Scotland . This role is essential for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of the mining fleet, minimizing downtime, and maintaining safety standards. You will lead a team of skilled mechanics and technicians, manage maintenance schedules, and oversee repairs and preventative maintenance programs. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, a deep understanding of heavy machinery, and a commitment to operational excellence in a demanding mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a team of maintenance technicians and mechanics, providing guidance and support.
• Develop, implement, and manage preventative maintenance schedules for all heavy mining equipment (e.g., excavators, haul trucks, dozers).
• Oversee and participate in the diagnosis and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures, conducting safety briefings and inspections.
• Manage spare parts inventory and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of necessary components.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, equipment performance, and costs.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or Team Lead in a heavy industry, preferably mining .
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a deep understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems in heavy equipment.
• Experience managing maintenance teams and coordinating work schedules.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance strategies and diagnostic tools.
• Commitment to workplace safety and the ability to enforce safety regulations.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
