About the Role

Our client requires a skilled Mine Maintenance Technician to join their operations team in Portsmouth . This role is essential for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of all mining equipment and machinery. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of heavy-duty equipment used in mining operations. A strong mechanical aptitude, experience with industrial machinery, and a commitment to safety are paramount for success in this hands-on position.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on mining machinery and equipment according to schedule.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform necessary repairs.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment status.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician , preferably in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Experience with various types of heavy machinery and tools.
• Commitment to workplace safety and ability to follow safety procedures strictly.
• Relevant vocational training or certification in mechanical or electrical trades is advantageous.
