About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Mine Operations Manager to oversee daily operations at a key facility near Birmingham . This hybrid role balances essential on-site presence with the flexibility to work remotely on specific tasks and planning activities. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction and processing of mineral resources, leading a diverse team of operational staff and technical experts. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, implement innovative mining techniques, and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the mining industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of mine operations, including drilling, blasting, excavation, and material handling.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Develop and implement operational plans to meet production targets and optimize resource utilization.
• Oversee maintenance schedules for mining equipment and infrastructure to minimize downtime.
• Manage operational budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for efficiency gains.
• Lead, train, and motivate the operational team to achieve peak performance and foster a positive work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mine Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mine operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Demonstrated expertise in open-pit or underground mining techniques.
• Strong knowledge of mine safety regulations and best practices.
• Proficiency in mine planning software and operational management systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
