About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-driven and experienced Mine Operations Manager to lead their significant mining operations based in Belfast . This senior leadership role is responsible for the overall strategic and operational management of the mine, ensuring maximum efficiency, productivity, and adherence to the highest safety and environmental standards. You will oversee all aspects of underground and surface operations, including production, maintenance, personnel, and resource management. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, a proven track record in mine management, and a comprehensive understanding of modern mining techniques and challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive operational plans to achieve production targets, optimize costs, and enhance efficiency.
• Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to mining in the UK .
• Manage and lead diverse teams of mining professionals, including engineers, supervisors, and operational staff.
• Oversee the maintenance and effective utilization of all mining equipment and infrastructure.
• Implement best practices in mining technology and operational processes to drive continuous improvement.
• Manage budgets, resource allocation, and capital expenditure for mining operations.

Requirements

• Degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience in the mining industry , with at least 5 years in a senior operational role.
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale mining operations, preferably including underground or complex surface mining.
• Strong understanding of mine planning, production management, and geotechnical principles .
• Excellent leadership, strategic planning, financial management, and communication skills.
• Experience with modern mining equipment and technology, and a commitment to innovation.
