About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Mine Operations Manager to lead and oversee all operational activities at their significant mining site near Newcastle upon Tyne . This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction of resources. You will manage a diverse team, drive operational improvements, and maintain strict adherence to environmental and safety regulations, playing a key role in the company's productivity and profitability within the UK's vibrant mining sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all day-to-day mine operations , including production, maintenance, and logistics.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize resource extraction and minimize costs.
• Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Manage budgets, control operational expenditures, and report on financial performance.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of mining professionals and operational staff.
• Oversee the implementation of new technologies and process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mine Management, or a related technical field.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mine operations, with at least 5 years in a management role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale mining operations.
• In-depth knowledge of mining techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with mine planning and scheduling software.
