Mine Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is looking for a results-oriented Mine Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of mining operations in the Newcastle upon Tyne area. You will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction of resources while adhering to strict environmental regulations. This is a leadership role that demands strong operational acumen, exceptional safety leadership, and the ability to manage diverse teams and complex machinery in a challenging industrial setting. You will be instrumental in driving productivity and operational excellence, contributing to the continued success and sustainable practices of the company's activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational plans to meet production targets safely and efficiently.
• Manage and supervise all mine site personnel, including engineers, supervisors, and operational staff.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Oversee the maintenance and operation of mining equipment and infrastructure.
• Manage operational budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mine operations management.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale underground or open-pit mining operations.
• Strong understanding of mine planning, production, and safety management systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
