About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Mine Operations Supervisor to lead surface operations at their site near Belfast . This role is essential for overseeing daily mining activities, ensuring productivity targets are met, and maintaining the highest safety standards. You will manage a team of miners and equipment operators, coordinating the extraction and handling of materials. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of surface mining techniques , and a commitment to operational efficiency and safety within the UK mining environment .

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct daily activities of the surface mining crew, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling.
• Ensure all mining activities are conducted in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
• Manage shift schedules, assign tasks, and provide clear instructions to team members.
• Maintain accurate production records and report on operational performance.
• Foster a strong safety culture, conducting regular safety briefings and risk assessments.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a supervisor or foreman in a surface mining or heavy construction environment.
• Solid understanding of surface mining equipment operation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of drilling, blasting, and material handling techniques.
• Experience with safety protocols and regulations relevant to the mining industry in the UK .
