Mine Planner - Underground Operations

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Mine Planner to lead the strategic planning of underground mining operations near Portsmouth . This critical role involves developing short, medium, and long-term mine plans to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective extraction of resources. You will work closely with operations, geology, and engineering teams to translate resource models into actionable mining sequences. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize detailed short, medium, and long-term mine plans for underground operations.
• Integrate geological data, geotechnical constraints, and production targets into mine designs.
• Utilize mine planning software to model mine layouts, schedules, and material flow.
• Conduct economic evaluations and sensitivity analyses of different mining scenarios.
• Monitor plan execution and make necessary adjustments based on operational feedback and changing conditions.
• Collaborate with operational teams to ensure plans are practical and achievable.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in mine planning, with a strong focus on underground mining.
• Proficiency in advanced mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, or similar.
• Solid understanding of underground mining methods, sequencing, and equipment capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Must be eligible to work in the UK and available for on-site work in the Portsmouth area.
